How to determine if a new cell is needed:
Pre-Check 1:Are the internal blades of the salt cell free and clear of any debris or build up? If not, clean the cell before proceeding.
Pre-Check 2:Has it been verified through a water sample test that there is a proper amount of salt in the water? If not, adjust to 3500-4500 ppm before proceeding.
Testing procedure:
Ensure that the pool pump is on and operating with proper water flow.
Tap the "CL2" button until all 8 LEDs are on.
Wait and allow the system to ramp up (approx. 45 seconds) and then PRESS & HOLD the "SuperChlor" button for approx. 3-5 seconds UNTIL the "Water Flow" light comes on.
In each test, the LED lights above the "CL2" button will alternate back and forth between two values. On value of indicator lights will be lit simutaneosuly with the ON/OFF led light ON. The second value is indicated by the number of LED CL2 indicator lights lit when the ON/OFF LED light is OFF.
Optimal amp range is between 5.8 and 6.0. If you have confirmed that the cell is clean and salt level is proper a reading below 5.8 amps indicates the cell has come to the end of its useable life or the blades are damaged. After install a new Solaxx cell, the unit may show a solid "check cell" light for up to 60 minutes while the system resets.
